OCD TEXAS held its first annual “Roundup!” meeting on July 30, 2011 in San Diego, California, in conjunction with the International OCD Foundation’s annual conference.
About 25 people attended from all across Texas for this special meet-and-greet event. Jay Jeter, LPC-S, from New Braunfels, was the Meeting Coordinator. The goal of the gathering was to reach out to OCD sufferers, their families, and treating professionals across Texas and especially in the western part of Texas.
We also had volunteers at a special table for the IOCDF affiliates at the conference, to provide information and answer questions about OCD TEXAS. The conference in San Diego gave us a chance to meet people from the growing number of local affiliates around the country, and to exchange ideas for growing our affiliates.
An affiliate of the International OCD Foundation, OCD TEXAS hosts quarterly meetings and conferences, held at rotating locations across Texas — Austin in fall, Dallas in winter, and Houston in spring. Our summer meeting, however, is held at the annual conference of IOCDF, wherever that may happen to be, which this year was in beautiful San Diego, California.
Please join us at our next quarterly meeting!
